An Anna Barbara Engels appears in the Reformed Church records as having attended church on the 3 Apr 1774 and it is assumed this is the wife of Johannes. The Reformed Church list of members in 1775 does not include them probably as they are Lutheran. However, their son Johannes is christened in the Reformed church in 1776. It could be they were living in the country side in the 1770's but no death or property records have yet been found.

1782 There was a Captain John Engle listed as captured by the British and not returned. Could this have been Johannes who then died during the war? There is no record of him after 1776.

Elizabeth Kramer married Ludwig Kramer on October 23 1781 and probably brought several children into the marriage with Peter.
